The movie opens with Valentin Bravo (Eugenio Derbez) stating that his
father once told him that fear is like a creature of nature that man is
unable to escape. He is seen as a child walking down a beach with his
father, who tells him that fear is like a wolf that can creep up on you
and jump you unless you learn to face it head-on. Valentin admits he was
unable to get over even the smallest fears, like having a spider crawl
on him. He gets angry with his father when he locks him in a room with a
wolf. The wolf does nothing but pee on the boy. He runs out and tells
his dad he doesn't love him anymore. Still, his dad tries to get him to
be fearless by pushing his son off a cliff into the ocean.
