Labor Day is a movie set in 1987 based on Henry ( Gattlin Griffith ) who will return to school for the fall . His mother Adele ( Winslet ) drove into town to buy clothes and supplies . Since her husband ( Clark Gregg ) he left them depressed and afraid to leave the house or make eye contact with anyone .
While they were in the store , they meet with a stranger named Frank ( Brolin ) , he approached Henry and asked for a ride with a bloody forehead . So the three of them went home Adele and give Frank a place to hide until night . Instead he ended up staying for four days . It turns out that Frank does not like the bad guy , Frank looks decently .
Over the next few days , Frank meet every need in the lives of Adele and seen as a figure of a husband, a father figure as well as builders . He changed the oil in rickety station wagon , also clean the dead leaves from the gutter . He taught Henry how to play baseball in the afternoon
