In 1993, in Anchorage, Alaska, the young prostitute Cindy Paulsen is
found cuffed in her apartment. She claims that she has been raped and
threatened by Robert "Bob" Hansen, an apparently respectable man with a
wife and children. The police officers don't believe her, Hansen isn't
charged, and Cindy returns to the streets. Meanwhile, Sergeant Jack
Holcombe is assigned to investigate the murder of seven young women, and
the detective that found Cindy secretly sends her case to him. Jack
believes that Bob Hansen is the serial killer, but lacks the evidences
to arrest him. Jack tries to earn Cindy's trust so that Hansen can be
charged, but she is afraid and tries to leave Alaska
